Donating Goods

We are always in need of clothes, food, toiletries and other items to give out to the many people who come to the Sanctuary for help each week. Please check the list below to find out what items we are currently able to accept, and please ensure that any clothing, linen etc. is clean and in good condition — we don't have the facilities to wash items before they are given out.

Yes please

  • Men's casual clothes in small and medium sizes, such as t-shirts, jeans, jumpers, hoodies, shorts, trousers, joggers, coats, socks and footwear.
  • Tinned and dried foods for food parcels and on site refreshments, such as tuna, kidney beans, chickpeas, tinned tomatoes, tinned vegetables, tinned fruit, baked beans, soup, tea, coffee, sugar, long life milk, biscuits, rice and pasta.
  • Toiletries for men and women, such as soap, shower gel, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, razors, shaving cream/gel and sanitary towels (not tampons).
  • Baby items such as nappies, baby wipes
  • Bags of all kinds — backpacks, suitcases, shopping bags, plastic supermarket bags
  • Working mobile phones less than 6 years old.

We have limited storage space in our new premises and only need small stocks of the following items, so please check with us before bringing them in. Thanks!

  • Clothes for women, children and babies
  • Bed linen, duvets and pillows
  • Sleeping bags
  • Towels
  • Curtains
  • Kitchen items (pots, pans, crockery and cutlery)
  • Stationery
  • Books
  • Art and craft materials
  • Toys and games
  • Prams and buggies

No thanks

Unfortunately we are unable to accept the following items:

  • Electrical goods (try the British Heart Foundation)
  • Furniture (try the British Heart Foundation or Betel)
  • General bric-a-brac
  • Child car seats

Delivering your donation

Please deliver donations between 1030 and 1500 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. If you would like to bring donations on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 0930 and 1430 please email us at info@stchadssanctuary.com to make an appointment. Please see the 'Contact' page for directions.
